Lawn Installation With BruZiv Landscaping

Installing a lawn can be a tricky and lengthy process for any property owner. But whether your yard is residential or commercial, BruZiv Landscaping can help you establish a brand new, fresh lawn for the season!

Deciding On Which Type Of Lawn To Go With

Before we start any lawn installation, we like to inspect and walk the property with the owner and help them decide between getting hydroseeding or a sod lawn.

What Is A Hydroseeding Lawn?

A hydroseeding lawn is a process where seed and any combination of fertilizer, lime, biostimulants,  moisture retention polymers, tackifiers, and other additives are combined with water and a hydroseeding mulch to form a slurry that is sprayed onto the ground to establish vegetation and control erosion.

What Is A Sod Lawn?

A sod lawn is an average grass lawn with some specific harvested grass grown for purposeful transplantation. Sod is made like any other crop; when ready to harvest, they take the grass and a layer of soil entangled within the root system.

The Lawn Installation Process

Once we figure out which lawn is best for you, we begin the lawn installation process by spraying down your yard with Round-Up to kill your property and make way for the new one. We do this because your original lawn is mixed with various grass colors and types; the Round-Up spraying process allows for an evenly colored grass type.

Next, we bring a skid steer to scrape off the top layer of your lawn. We then bring in fresh soil, around two inches of it, and we also get sunny seed, shaded seed, or rye seed, depending on the area or location of your property. After this is completed, we bring in the starter fertilizer, followed by shredded straw or hydra seeding to help grow your lawn over time.

The entire process depends on the size of the property but typically speaking, it will take up to six weeks for your new lawn to look fresh, green, and vibrant.
